monday. in snippets.

I wrote this on the chalkboard today:

It's Monday.
The reminder couldn't hurt.

Tennis lessons again this summer.
Love it.

Post-tennis trip to Costco to restock the fruit basket.

I might need a nectarine intervention.

From Target:

"throwback" Garbage Pail Kid cards,
back to gross-out another generation.
The kids are loving them,
for better or worse.
{my brother and i had quite an impressive collection of these in the 80's.}

In my front yard:

the lavender has exploded.
The bees couldn't be happier about it.

On my front door:

A Saturday with nothing to do
equals time to whip up a 4th of July wreath.

Straw wreath + cut strips of burlap + hot glue
+ misc fabric flowers + felt centers.

Aaaaand...that's the extent of my decorating for the 4th.
I'm lame.

This was dinner last Monday:

crock pot pulled pork.
Easiest recipe ever:
layer cut onions, pork shoulder, pour one can of sprite, add more onions,
cook for six hours on high,
remove and shred and add a bottle (or less)
of bbq sauce.
Return to crock pot and cook another hour.
{if you don't have time you don't really have to cook it another hour
it just really cooks the bbq flavor in.}
Serve on rolls.
{with pickles + mustard, of course}

And this is dinner tonight:

leftover pizza from Zachary's.

You must do everything in your power to
get yourself to the bay area at least
once in your life to eat at Zachary's.

And invite me to go with you.
And order the stuffed chicken special.
And swear off any other pizza for life.

For reals.

Love the pics shot from above.
Those nectarines look amazing.
Pulled pork sounds good. I love an easy recipe like that. I will have to jot this one down. I bet it smells delish while cooking.
Happy Monday. Hang in there. ;)

Costco rocks for fruit. I totally agree. I am a berry addict. Multiple kinds. all the time. I love a good ol' crock pot (non-pot-roast) recipe. Looks yummy and easy. Thanks!

Love all the pics, the verse, the PIZZA. I'm coming to visit right now. I think it'll take me about 23 hours to drive there, so I'm giving you almost a full day to prepare for me!

first of all, I just love your blog! You got me hooked on the Q & A journal from Anthropologie (love it!) and I can't get enough of Pinterest--I think I already have the next 3 years of birthday parties planned for our family members thanks to all of the ideas!

I can't believe Garbage Pail Kids are making a comeback! My husband has most of the first set from back in the day and the complete second set. He and I had a few great laughs over them when we discovered them one day while packing to move.

Have a happy July 4th! And don't think you're lame...the only thing I've done to "decorate" for the holiday is to make hairbows for my girls' hair!

I think I need one of those giant chalk boards at my house as well. A verse a day couldn't hurt!

The fruit made me hungry! Yum!

so much i need to say.

garbage pail kids. no way. please tell me candyland still exists in my hometown. i forget the street name. total nasty whole in the wall. looking back, i'm sure questionable activities took place there. of which i was totally unaware of. because i was up to my eyeballs in nerds, lemon heads and garbage pail kids. and i've needed a nectarine intervention all my life. i don't own a crockpot. don't you feel sorry for me? i think i need my blog license revoked. also, never been to zachary's. never even heard of zachary's?? what is wrong with me??
