So.
Let's talk.
Did you watch The Wedding?
I didn't wake up early to watch it,
but I did record it.
Avery and I watched over coffee and milk and breakfast
and marveled.
My favorite thing Avery asked this morning:
"Is she real?"
{about Kate, of course}.
I loooved seeing how all the women were dressed.
Just once in my life I wish I had an occasion
to wear a hat like that.
I couldn't take my eyes off of them.
Especially the crazy ones.
Avery couldn't believe that they rode in a real princess carriage.
William looked very handsome,
but I'm a little partial to Harry.
I heard that Kate did her own makeup.
I love that.
And that dress?
Perfect.
It was only fitting that while we watched
The Wedding
I worked on making Avery's princess tea party invitations.
Craft paper + doilies + mod podge.
I printed the party info,
cut it out,
and glued it onto the doily.
Not too fancy,
and very easy.
I wonder if Kate's invitations included doilies?

Someone, talk me down.
I mentioned the other day that Avery's 3rd birthday is in a couple of weeks.
We only really do parties for the kids every other year,
and this is Avery's year.
She's having a pink party.
I've been spending way too much time {and having way too much fun} googling party ideas.
And I stayed up way too late one night making the invites:

{inspiration found here. love this site - if you go, get ready to spend lots of time there...}
And now I'm thinking food
and cake
and goodies and games and decorations.
My mind is all aflutter with pink.
Next week is the last week of school and there's a TON going on.
I'm definitely not going to have time to do everything I want to do.
So I need your help.
Please tell me I don't need to make these:
They're not nearly as adorable as I think they are, right?
And I really need you to tell me these aren't so great either:

And I'm just going to share this link with you,
because I like you.
The c-u-t-e-s-t party ideas.
{Rainbow party? I'm dying. I *will* throw a rainbow party.}
I just have one request:
if you throw a party as fabulous as any featured on that site...
invite me?

Party time...yet again.
I have just barely recovered from Colin's Lego birthday party back in August...barely...and now we're at t-minus four days until Riley's party. He's having a Halloween birthday party this year. Shortly after I found out I was pregnant with Riley and realized I'd be giving birth in October, I knew that one day I'd get to throw him a Halloween birthday party. Of course, at the time when I was dreaming of throwing this party, in this dream I had only one child, an enormous house, equally enormous budget, and endless time to plan the party. Of course, now...ummm...three kids, small house, Target budget, and time? What time?
Oh well. I was inspired to make these invitations by the guru herself, Martha. (You all know who I'm referring to. She's like Madonna - she doesn't need a last name.) I like the idea of an invitation with a surprise inside. But Martha's had a severed finger inside...that seemed a little gory for 7 year olds, so instead we went with:
Googly glasses!
And chocolate eyeballs, of course.
So this weekend there will 10 little boys at my house. In costume. Playing Halloween games. Running. Laughing. Eating sugar-free, vegetarian cuisine. OK, not really. They'll be eating pizza. Sounded good though.
Wish me luck.
