hey hey friday.

So the science fair is over.
It wasn't as bad as I'd anticipated.
A little late night cram session last night getting his presentation board together,
but all in all it was good.
Also...fyi...sugar produces the most amount of CO2 when mixed with yeast.
In case you were wondering.

I bought a coffee cup the size of my head recently.
Some days you need one that big.

IMG_0448

Tomato bisque, recipe from my friend Liz.
I made it last week and am craving it again.

IMG_0457

Our Valentines this year were store-bought,
with zero creative flair.
And the kids were pleased as punch.

IMG_0462

The tennis ball: her favorite thing.
Other than bacon.
And, turns out, cat food.

IMG_0474

Sunny days and sandals.
Repeat again tomorrow.

IMG_0501

Animal and protein style.
It feels healthier without a bun, okay?

IMG_0528

Legit healthy snack:
whole wheat banana muffins.
And guess what...the kids didn't like them.
Their loss, my gain.
{literally?}

IMG_0603

Our plum tree is always the first trumpeter of spring.

IMG_0614

I love those trees.
They're always the last to lose their leaves in the fall
and the first to bloom in the spring.
The pink blossoms make me happy.
It's going to be another beautiful weekend here:
sun and temps in the mid 60's.
So far I can't complain about this February one. little. bit.

insta life.

It's Sunday night,
and I just finished watching my boyfriend on the Grammys.
Oh Mr. Timberlake.
So glad you're back.

Here are some of our recent Instagram goings on.
Because I just can't seem to pick up my big camera these days.

Bball.

IMG_0192

Sunny February days make beautiful February sunsets.

IMG_0201

Sick days at home.

IMG_0239

A sneaky bed creeper.

IMG_0266

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner please.
{see above reference to awesome tomatoes.}

IMG_0334

Friday evening at the park.

IMG_0344

More February sun.
I can't even handle the thought of a blizzard.
Props to you, northeast peeps.

IMG_0351

Homework {sucks}.

IMG_0075

Old Navy sweater, for the win.

IMG_0089

We just needed these one day after school.

IMG_0132

Another sick day.

IMG_0300

Before...

IMG_0005

...after.

IMG_0044

And that's it.
Now it's back to the Grammys for a Mumford fix.

life, as seen through the iphone.

I realized I haven't done an instafriday in awhile.
I like looking through the pictures I take on my phone.
It's a nice reminder to me of how we spend our days.
And what I cooked, apparently.  :)

A family day out for my birthday.
These two...I tell you.
I love it when they're smiling together.
It's so much better than when they're arguing.

IMG_9503

A sundae.
It was rough...but I managed to finish.
{it was my birthday, i had to!}

IMG_9515

Some sweet potato pancake action.
I'm a fan.

IMG_9530

Date night with my favorite Aggie.

IMG_9548

This girl is a reader.  Big time.

IMG_9594

I feel like a grown-up when I buy Brussels sprouts.

IMG_9610

And even more like a grown up when I cook them.
{roasted with balsamic vinegar and other veggies.  really good.}

IMG_9767

Butternut squash.  Such an - interesting? - vegetable.
Don't you think?

IMG_9646

I get one hour a day of alone time with this girl.
I treasure it.

IMG_9708

A cold on a Friday.  Bummer.

IMG_9723

A girl and her favorites.

IMG_9796

I taught my monthly art lesson to Colin's class today.
We worked on mixing colors.
Third graders are awesome.

IMG_9806

And that's it.
A few weeks in a few iphone pics.
Happy Friday.

a photo dump.

Life is full.
Exhausting,
fun,
busy,
lovely,
and a sometimes overwhelming.

I'm craving some alone time with Gary.
And with girlfriends.
I think my new year's resolution will be to have both.
Soon.

instacollage120812

Until then...

1. piano lessons.
2. a dog with a really rough life.
3. a light heart.
4. pie crust date with martha.
5. pinecone painting.
6. goodwill score.
7. wish i could freeze time.
8.  sunrise sky party.
9. a happy bather.
10. black friday in napa.  much better than the mall.
11. folding laundry playlist: zooey deschanel and michael buble.
12. my morning coffee partner.
13. sitting on the couch laughing, not fighting. christmas miracle.
14. working off some pumpkin pie.
15. laundry.  again.

Follow along on instagram.
It's fun.  I promise.
I'm @foreverfoldinglaundry.

some late november christmas-ing.

It's Friday.
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition.
{oh, that song.  it reminds me of when gary and i were newly married
and footloose and fancy free living in texas.
those were the days.}

We have a few plans for the weekend,
but nothing major.
That makes me happy.

Untitled

I've been pretty absent from this little ole blog.
I've been busy Christmas-a-fying over here.
I know it's not even December yet,
but I've been in the Christmas-y mood.
I like our house when it's decorated for Christmas.
It feels so cozy and homey.
{homy?  homie?  whatever.}

I made some mason jar snow scenes.
I may possibly be addicted.

DSC_0407

I'm hosting a little get together for 30 or so gals this week
and I'm working on the menu.
So...what do I *have* to make?
Besides fudge and brie, of course.
These Mexican quiche are always a hit I'm thinking a batch pumpkin spice lattes
that my girlfriend in Portugal swears are delish.
Oh, and these.
These are life-changing.
Cookie dough truffles: seriously awesome.

Also awesome: little yard Christmas trees.

Untitled

Gary thought they were party hats.
{men.}

Our elf on the shelf is back.
And if you want to feel very lame and uncreative with your elf-positioning ideas,
take a look around pinterest.
My poor kids.
Our elf is lame and doesn't zip line across the living room or leave foot prints in the kitchen or anything.
And sometimes he forgets to move.

Untitled

Now he has an alarm to remind him.
{i think he's related to our tooth fairy.}

The first thing she does every morning is find the elf,
and check on the tree.
Gotta make sure the ornaments are all still in the right places.

Untitled

And, finally, the peppermint Joe Joe's are back.

Untitled

Help me.
