ten(ish) on ten: may.

I must admit: I'm pretty happy to see the weekend arrive.
Piano recitals and sushi dinners and a day of "whatever mom wants" on Sunday.
Sounds good to me.

This day was fairly average on the Friday scale:
vacuuming and dishes and parades at school and new placemats and friday family dinner.
I like average.

ten on ten: april 2013.

This little April tenth was a nice one.
I knew it would be before I even opened my eyes.
We slept with the windows open and the yellow finches outside were going crazy.
They might as well be roosters.

Here are ten little bits of this beautiful, normal day:

1. This sneaky bed creeper.  Will she still be doing this when she's 16?
Sometimes I wonder.

2.  It was a 'sip coffee outside once the kids are gone' type of morning.

Untitled

3.  Off to yoga for some downward dog and warrior one.

4.  Speaking of a downward dog...this one is usually downward.  So la-zy.

DSC_0016

5.  Lunch: I'll take one sausage plus some roasted veggies from last night, please.

DSC_0008

6.  Chives gone wild on the windowsill.

7.  A little research + an izze.

DSC_0022

8.  Snack time.  I ate three.  {three kiwis, not three pieces.  oink oink.}

DSC_0025

9.  Time to pick up the kids and still no shower.  It's a glamorous life over here.

Untitled

10.  Books at bedtime.  Lately she's been asking to go to bed at 7:30.
You got it, sister.

That's ten.

ten on...ten and twelve.

Last night I decided that I was going to
go in and get a manicure today.
My cuticles are driving me crazy.

I also decided that I was going to get caught up
on all of my gift wrapping
and fill all of my outstanding etsy orders.

Then Avery was up coughing all night.

So instead of the above
she stayed home from school
and we spent the day together watching Home Alone on the couch
and playing babies.
{she has triplets named riley, colin, and avery.}

I thought I'd post a December ten on ten.
Then I realized I had only taken eight pictures,
so I'm going to have to improvise a little.

1 on 10: a post-CrossFit celebratory "So Happy I Survived" latte.

IMG_8861

2 on 10: is there ever NOT a line at Joann's?

IMG_8862

3 on 10: on to the next line at Trader Joe's.

IMG_8863

4 on 10: after school crafting.

DSC_0400

5 on 10: long, December shadows.

IMG_8869

6 on 10: every Monday for the past almost four years.

IMG_8872

7 on 10: waiting for Trader Joe's orange chicken for dinner.  A crowd favorite.

DSC_0403

8 on 10: I bought everyone their own gingerbread house this year.
No fighting at all.  Best thing I've ever done.

DSC_0406

9 on 10: this was my sick girl this morning.  Technically not taken on the tenth.
I'm breaking all kinds of rules here.

IMG_8928

10 on 10: While Colin's in his drum lesson Avery plays with my phone and I crochet.
It's a good system.

IMG_8949

That's ten.
With only a minimal amount of rule-breaking.

ten on ten: november 2012.

Up early at coffee o'clock.
At least it's light now in the morning.
That's the only good thing about the time change.

DSC_0222

Cream of Wheat breakfast.
No skimping on the maple syrup.

DSC_0222

I'm in the kitchen...she's in the kitchen.
I'm at the fridge...she's at the fridge.
She's a food stalker.
And notice the gray around her eyes and nose.
Aw.

DSC_0226

A little second breakfast for Colin.
He was hungry this morning.

DSC_0224

Cozy blanket and watching The Lorax.

DSC_0232

Making stuff in my messy, messy craft room.
This is all I should show you.
Seriously...it's bad.

DSC_0233

The vacuum.
My nearly-every-day friend.
Thanks, dog hair.

DSC_0234

Post cleaning: more crafting + Sleepless in Seattle.
And even more mess.  Gross.

DSC_0235

Wishing I was snuggled in the blanket I'm making.
{making soooooo slowwwlllyyyyyy.}
Right now it's really more the size of a awkwardly large scarf.

crocket blanket

A little guitar tuning for him while I watch Project Runway.

DSC_0237

And that was Saturday.
Except he and I threw in a little kidless dinner date before the guitar tuning/tv watching.
It was much-needed.
